Our Story

When Love comes into our lives it changes our story. The Love of Jesus Christ is so powerful that its effects cannot be measured by human measures. A life that is changed by Love is changed forever.

A life that is anchored in Love will overflow with Compassion. When our lives are truly transformed by God’s love we also gain His heart of Compassion. As Jesus looked out on the multitude of needy people, He was compelled to do something for them. “When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd,” (Matthew 9:36).

That compassion compels us to share the Love of God with others, so they too can be transformed and join the Community of God’s people who have been changed by Love. This Community becomes a Body, a vessel of God, to bring the Love of God to their society. Together they will rebuild their society as the Body of Christ restores ancient ruins.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring the good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion – to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations,” (Isaiah 61:1-4).

And that’s Asifiwe, that’s who we are and that’s what we believe. Love changes our stories
